MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – The Constitutional Court of Belarus has adopted an address to the Belarusian president and the National Assembly “On the state of constitutional legitimacy in the Republic of Belarus in 2021”, BelTA has learned.
“The address has 27 pages and consists of five sections, an introduction and a summary,” Chairman of the Constitutional Court Piotr Miklashevich noted announcing the address.
According to him, the first and second sections of the address analyze the preliminary control of the constitutionality of laws adopted by the parliament before they are approved by the president. “In the third section the Constitutional Court offers its findings of the study of the compliance with generally recognized principles and norms of international law of the restrictive measures against the Republic of Belarus adopted by the EU, some foreign states and their bodies. The fourth section analyzes the implementation of the right of citizens to access constitutional justice through authorized bodies. The fifth section analyzes the execution of earlier decisions and legal positions of the Constitutional Court,” Piotr Miklashevich said.
