MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) - The Belarusian Information Ministry condemns the actions of Polish security forces against domestic and foreign journalists working on the Belarusian-Polish border, BelTA learned from the ministry.
"Following the use of an unknown chemical liquid by Poland, many of the media representatives suffered tearing, coughing, suffocation and had to seek medical help. Photo and video equipment was damaged when water cannons were unleashed," the ministry said.
Such actions represent "an undisguised attempt to obstruct the work of journalists, to prevent them from carrying out their professional activities. This speaks to the disinterest of the official Polish authorities in objective and comprehensive coverage of the events taking place on the Belarusian-Polish border."
