MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) — Cooperation between legislative bodies is an important part of Belarus-China relations, Xie Xiaoyong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, said during a meeting with Igor Sergeyenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, as the ambassador is completing his diplomatic mission, BelTA has learned.
“Cooperation between legislative bodies is an important part of our relations. The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus maintains close contacts with the National People's Congress of China and actively contributes to the sustainable and long-term development of China-Belarus relations,” the ambassador said.
Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong recalled that last year, the friendship group between the National People's Congress of China and the National Assembly of Belarus was transformed into the High-Level Committee on Cooperation between the Legislative Bodies of China and Belarus. The first meeting of the committee was held during the visit of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation to China in May 2024. “The parties exchanged the views on China-Belarus relations, contacts between legislative bodies, experience in the legislative area, trade and economic cooperation and so on,” the ambassador said.
The ambassador assured that the Chinese side is ready to facilitate the exchange of parliamentary delegations of all levels.
