MINSK, 9 January (BelTA) - Cooperation between Belarus and China in sport has gained momentum, Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich said in an interview with BelTA.
He drew attention to such large-scale joint construction projects as the swimming pool, the National Football Stadium.
Sergei Lukashevich spoke about other aspects of cooperation in this field: “Our countries exchange sports delegations on a regular basis. Chinese and Belarusian athletes participate in competitions and training camps in various sports. In November 2024 alone, Belarusian athletes traveled to China to participate in the ITF M25 tournaments, the World Fencing Cup, the international marathon and training camps in speed skating”.
Chinese athletes came to Belarus to participate in the third Belarus’ Open Figure Skating Cup.
“Active cooperation at the level of sports federations, associations, unions continues. Cooperation in sports education is growing and the opportunities for cooperation in cybersport are being explored,” Sergei Lukashevich said.
