
Belarus' Communications and Informatization Ministry
MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) - Belarus and China are intensifying their cooperation in digital development, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry following talks between Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Kirill Zalessky and Chinese Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Xin Guobin.
The parties discussed promising areas of bilateral collaboration, including digital development and telecommunications. Special attention was paid to strengthening artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation. The parties reviewed progress on implementing a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation in information and communication technologies (ICT) between their ministries. The document covers digital transformation, cloud technologies, AI, digital healthcare, and ICT personnel training.
The officials also exchanged views on outcomes of the June SCO Ministerial Meeting on Information and Communication Technologies in Karamay, China. Both parties agreed to expand cooperation within the SCO framework.
“The talks were constructive. The parties demonstrated mutual interest in developing strategic, mutually beneficial cooperation and identified concrete steps to maintain high-level inter-agency contacts,” the ministry said.
