MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – Preliminary information about the number of votes every candidate for the presidency of the Republic of Belarus has won will be revealed by 2:00 on 27 January, BelTA learned from Belarus’ Central Election Commission.
Vote tabulation does not end when votes are counted at polling stations. The data has to be forwarded to superior election commissions. The first stage is to count votes at polling stations and forward the data to district commissions, city commissions or city district commissions. The second stage is to summarize data per district, city, city district and forward it to oblast commissions and the Minsk city commission. The third stage is to sum up the data per oblast and the city of Minsk and forward it to Belarus’ CEC. During the fourth stage the Central Election Commission will publish results of the Belarus president election and will notify the population.
“By the way, the process of data transfer and summarization sometimes takes longer than vote counting at polling stations,” the source at the CEC clarified.
Preliminary results of the election of the president of the Republic of Belarus will be revealed by Belarus’ CEC at 11:00 on 27 January.
