MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – Lithuania does not only cynically manipulate defenseless refugees but also misinforms international organizations, the Belarusian State Border Committee told BelTA.
“Hiding from the international community an inhumane treatment of refugees, the Lithuanian security forces resort to blatant deception and methods that humiliate human dignity. Yesterday, they brought a group of refugees from their territory to the border line to shoot a choreographed video. For almost two hours, people seeking asylum in European countries were forced to take poses and fulfill instructions. Taking advantage of the helplessness of the refugees, the security forces asked them provocative questions that discredit the Belarusian side," the State Border Committee said.
The Lithuanian security forces lined the foreigners up near the Lithuanian border sign, distributed grocery packages on camera, and then defiantly took everyone back. "It is obvious that the Lithuanian side cynically manipulates not only defenseless refugees, but also misinforms international organizations," the State Border Committee said.
