MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – The Belarusian border guards have won bronze at the international triathlon championship, BelTA learned from the Belarusian State Border Committee.
The international border guard triathlon competition among CIS countries took place in Tajikistan on 20-24 October. Participating in the event were national teams from Belarus, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan.
Participants competed in grenade throwing for accuracy, shooting with a Kalashnikov assault rifle, and a 3-km military cross-country run with weapons.
“As a result of intense competition, the Belarusian border guards took third place. First place went to the team of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and second to the border guards of the Russian Federation,” the сommittee reported.
In the individual event, Aleksandr Denisovich from the Grodno Border Group stood out by winning the gold medal in grenade throwing for accuracy.
