MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - The Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization hosted the Nowruz celebration on 1 April to mark the harmony of traditions and sustainable development. Belarusian diplomats took part in the event, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in China
Attending the event were SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev, Special Representative of the Chinese Government for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui, Vice President of the Chinese Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the SCO Cui Li, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the SCO-China Pilot Zone Zhang Xinzhu, representatives of international and regional organizations, leaders of partner structures from various regions of China and other distinguished guests.
The Belarusian Embassy in China participated in the event as a full-fledged member of the organization.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Aleksandr Chervyakov, the heads of diplomatic missions of SCO member states, observers, and dialogue partners also took part in the celebration.
Belarusian cuisine and national costumes were presented to the event's participants. A creative group performed the Belarusian dance Lyavonikha.
