MINSK, 18 March (BelTA) - A delegation from the Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs is attending the 12th meeting of the Interpol Committee on the Processing of Data in Lyon, France, the ministry told BelTA.
The event is taking place at the organization's headquarters in Lyon on 18-20 March. It brought together about 70 representatives of law enforcement agencies from 45 countries. Over the three days, participants will discuss issues related to improving operations of Interpol and its bodies, including the role of the Commission for the Control of Files in verifying that Interpol's personal data processing complies with the current Interpol rules
The agenda also includes reviewing proposals to amend the organization's data processing rules. The Belarusian delegation is also set to meet with representatives of the General Secretariat to discuss the cooperation between Belarus and other member countries of Interpol.
