Belarus attends conference of International Sport Federation of Firefighters

MINSK, 8 December (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation has participated in the online conference of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.

The conference brought together representatives of 24 member states of the federation. The Belarusian delegation was led by Chairman of the Belarusian Federation of Firefighting and Rescue Sport, Belarus' Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko.

“The participants of the conference heard out reports about the performance of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers in 2020, discussed and approved the plan of the main sports events in 2021 and a long-term plan of the main sports events through 2024. They also adopted the amended Statute of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers, considered the provisions about the organization of world championships, and approved panels of referees of the world championships. Serbia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates joined the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers as members,” the press service said.

The International competition in fire-applied sport in memory of Peter Sokolovsky will take place in the Polish cities of Torun and Grudziadz on 23-27 March 2021. The 33rd International competitions in fire-applied sport in commemoration of firefighters heroes of Chernobyl will be held in Ukraine's Lvov on 25-28 May. Croatia's Cakovec will play host to the 10th World Championship among youth and juniors and the 6th World Championship among girls and juniors on 9-15 August. The 16th World Championship among men and the 7th World Championship among women are scheduled to take place in Karaganda, Kazakhstan on 31 August – 6 September. The International competition in fire-applied sport “Odessos” will be hosted by Bulgaria's Varna on 27 September – 1 October. The 22nd Conference of the International Sport Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers will take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 12-16 November 2021. The main panels of referees of the events also include representatives of Belarus.
