Belarus attends CIS Railway Transport Council meeting

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Railways took part in the 77th meeting of the CIS Railway Transport Council, BelTA learned from the press center of Belarusian Railways.

The meeting was held in an online format. The delegation of Belarusian Railways was led by the head of Belarusian Railways Vladimir Morozov. The meeting was presided by Oleg Belozerov, Chairman of the CIS Railway Transport Council, General Director - Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways.

The council considered the coordination of actions of the CIS rail administrations in terms of organization of international passenger and freight transportation, the joint use of a fleet of freight cars and containers, mutual settlements for transportation and services, the development of regulatory documents that ensure the technological unity of the railways.

"The council summed up the performance of the railway network in January-September of 2022, identified measures to improve the organization of the transportation process, to promote the effective use of rolling stock and passenger international traffic. The council approved the plan for the formation of freight trains and flows in international traffic for 2022/2023, freight traffic at interstate junction points, the list of international specialized trains for freight transportation using universal rolling stock, international container trains, Trailer on Flatcar (TOFC) and container-TOFC trains," the press center of Belarusian Railways said.

The event was also attended by the heads of railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, the Baltic countries, Finland and Iran.

The 77th meeting was held under the auspices of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the CIS Railway Transport Council.
