Belarus attending session of UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – Belarusian law enforcement agencies are open for information exchange with foreign colleagues, Deputy Head of the Directorate for Drug Control and Combating Human Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus Andrei Kudritsky said at the 34th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) that opened in Vienna this week, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus.

Andrei Kudritsky heads the Belarusian delegation in Vienna. The delegates are discussing ways to counter human trafficking, drug smuggling, cybercrime, terrorist and extremist activities. “Countries can achieve progress in their fight against crime only if they cooperate and coordinate their efforts in line with international treaties and UN conventions. It is important to ensure effective implementation of existing multilateral documents,” Andrei Kudritsky emphasized in his speech.

He went on saying that our country is committed to comprehensive cooperation in the fight against crime. “Belarus has gained useful experience in identifying and neutralizing criminal networks. We are ready to share our best practices. Belarusian law enforcement agencies are not isolated from the outside world. We are open for the exchange of information, joint operations against all types of criminals, we are ready to collaborate, share expertise and knowledge,” Andrei Kudritsky remarked.
