Belarus, Armenia discuss economic cooperation prospects

YEREVAN, 12 March (BelTA-Armenpress) – Forestry Minister of Belarus Vitaly Drozhzha and Minister of Economy of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan discussed the prospects of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries as part of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Yerevan.

Talking to the media, Vitaly Drozhzha said that participants in the meeting discussed issues of mutual interest. Those were the opportunities to boost cooperation in industry, transport, agriculture, science and technology, high technologies, innovations and digitizing, energy, culture, education, sport and healthcare.

The ministers also signed a protocol of the 14th meeting of the Armenian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. “A lot of work had been done before the protocol was signed. At present we have clear-cut tasks which we need to fulfill,” the minister said.

According to Tigran Khachatryan, Armenia has been closely cooperating with Belarus in various sectors, including with the Eurasian Economic Commission. “Belarus is interested in the prospects of investment cooperation with Armenia, which is both aimed at the domestic market of Armenia and also those of neighboring countries. We have agreed with Vitaly Drozhzha that both the parties should do everything to address as quickly as possible all the issues related to the advancement of investment programs of business representatives,” the Armenian minister of economy said.
