MOSCOW, 12 August (BelTA) – The orchestra of the Armed Forces of Belarus will take part in the international military music festival Spasskaya Tower which is due in Moscow's Red Square on 5-13 September, BelTA learnt from the organizers of the forum.
The festival has been regularly held since 2007 following the instruction of the Russian President. This year's nine-day festival will feature the best militaty music bands in a show rich in theatrical performance and light installations. The festival will be wrapped up with a grandiose final and spectacular fireworks. Partaking in the festival will be 26 military music bands from 14 countries.
This year the festival will once again coincide with the City Day celebrations in Moscow. Russian and foreign military music bands are expected to take an active part in the official opening ceremony of the City Day celebrations in the Red Square, a military orchestra parade along Tverskaya Street and charity concerts in parks and squares of the city.
“This year the festival Spasskaya Tower will be dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The military music bands have prepared an impressive show and we sincerely hope that it will have its audience,” head of the directorate of the festival Sergei Smirnov said.
