Belarus’ Academy of Sciences: Soyuz MS-24 crew fit for landing

MINSK, 4 April (BelTA) – Members of the crew of the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft are fit for landing as far as their medical state and psychological state are concerned, BelTA learned from Deputy Head of the Aerospace Activities Department of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Ivan Bucha.

A briefing session took place in Karaganda, Kazakhstan, during which representatives of various agencies discussed all the details of the forthcoming return of the Soyuz MS-24 spacecraft crew with the Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya to Earth.

Ivan Bucha said: “Preparations for landing began even during preparations for the flight to the ISS. At present all the assets used for landing have been fully prepared. During a medical briefing it was stated that the crew comprised of Oleg Novitsky, Marina Vasilevskaya, and Loral O'Hara feel fine. The crew are fit for landing as far as their medical indicators and the psychological state are concerned.”

According to the representative of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, assets of the Federal Air Transport Agency, the Russian space agency Roscosmos, the Defense Ministry, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency are ready to take care of the landing. “We are talking about the standard procedure and about the ballistic, emergency landing,” the official said.
