Bastrykin: Belarusian, Russian investigators strive for common victory over crime

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - Investigators of Belarus and Russia strive for a common victory over crime, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin said as he met with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 10 September, BelTA has learned.

According to Alexander Bastrykin, investigators of both the countries face new challenges today. The situation is constantly changing. New types of crime are emerging, including extremism and terrorism. The ‘Afghan syndrome' also makes itself felt: the flow of refugees and drug smuggling has increased. This is felt both in Russia and Belarus.

“That is why today we will be signing new protocols on cooperation between our investigative committees. For the sake of our common victory, which we must ensure in the fight against crime,” said the chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
