Andreichenko: Citizenship bill has been submitted to MPs, amnesty bill is pending

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – The citizenship bill has already been submitted for consideration to MPs, and the amnesty bill is pending, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at a meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives, BelTA has learned.

“The citizenship bill has already been submitted to MPs, and the amnesty bill is coming soon. These issues are taking on new significance now, as they have to do with the national security of our state. Therefore, deputies need to study them very carefully and view them as instruments to ensure stability and peace in our society,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

According to him, deputies are constantly working to improve the quality and efficiency of legislative activity. “In this regard, I want to emphasize that we need to collaborate more closely and in a more productive way with the Council of the Republic, especially in terms of submitting bills to the expert council set up by decision of the president. The committees of the House of Representatives should work in close partnership with the relevant committees of the Council of the Republic, they need to process remarks and suggestions within the shortest time possible,” the speaker noted.
