Andreichenko: 2024 election campaign in Belarus enters its major phase

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) - The 2024 election campaign in Belarus has entered its most active phase, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko said at a meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives at the House of Government on 31 January, BelTA has learned.

“The election campaign has entered its most active phase with campaigning kicking off on 31 January. Invitations to participate in the international observation of the parliamentary elections have been sent to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly and the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly,” Vladimir Andreichenko said.

The chairman of the House of Representatives mentioned the need for local assistance to constituencies in conducting the election campaign. “It is necessary to work with the observers who are expected to come to us to monitor the elections, to work with local authorities,” he emphasized.

At the meeting, the council members are set to consider information on the addition to the agenda of the tenth session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation, MPs’ reports on business trips abroad, the issue of sending the Belarusian parliamentary delegation to Vienna, Austria to participate in the 23rd winter session of the OSCE PA, and also to discuss the plan of international parliamentary cooperation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus for 2024.
