MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to limit powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has been made because Vladimir Zelensky deems himself so independent and powerful that nobody should or can control him. Andrei Vajra, editor-in-chief of the information and analysis website Alternativa, made the statement in a recent episode of BelTA’s YouTube project On Point.
Reflecting on the significance of Zelensky’s signing a law on 22 July to limit the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, which represent Western structures that are not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, the editor-in-chief noted: “It happened because in Zelensky’s opinion he is so great, independent, and powerful that no one should or can control him. In other words, there should be no threat. These structures have recently become more active in relation to his inner circle. The people in Bankovaya Street realized that the big boss was unhappy with them. Investigations, criminal cases, and allegations of corruption followed.”

“Zelensky is making a counter move: I am great, I am a demigod, what are you doing here? And he demolishes all of it with one blow. And this is where things get interesting. Because the activation of all these structures is essentially getting to Zelensky. They are starting to pull out individual characters from his inner circle. After all, this is an entire monolithic criminal structure bent on stealing money and everything else,” said Andrei Vajra.

The editor-in-chief of the information and analysis website emphasized that the entire political elite and the government hierarchy of Ukraine are thoroughly corrupt: “And this is the ideal mechanism — the fight against corruption: at any moment any element can be removed and it will be fair, according to the law, it will not be contrived. You can randomly imprison anyone over there, without even knowing what they do.”

“Naturally, Zelensky no longer suits Ukraine’s Western masters. The guy is completely unhinged and is trying to break free. He has serious problems with his head. It’s one thing when the president of Moldova, which is hard to find on a map, has problems, but it’s a different thing when the president of Ukraine, which the West has invested in and bets heavily on in its fight against Russia, has problems. They need a different character, one who is more adequate and, of course, more controllable,” Andrei Vajra stated.

He also pointed out that Zelensky understands this perfectly well: “Hence his counterattack against all these Western structures inside the country. Criminal cases have been launched as a counterattack. And immediately the masses are brought out onto the streets. Instantly.”
