"On Point"
MINSK, 11 August (BelTA) – The West, particularly the US and the UK, wants to remove Zelensky to gain quicker access to Ukraine's natural resources, Bulgarian political analyst Plamen Paskov said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Earlier, Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service reported a secret meeting in the Alps, allegedly attended by high-ranking Ukrainian officials, including the head of Vladimir Zelensky’s Office Andrei Yermak, the head of the Central Intelligence Office of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry Kirill Budanov and former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
Plamen Paskov suggested that British intelligence officers might have also been present at the meeting. “The topic of this Alpine conspiracy was Zelensky's replacement. They were working out a scenario to remove him, given that Zelensky refuses to cease fire. Therefore, someone else is needed, someone who would agree to cease fire, lift martial law and hold elections,” he said.
According to the analyst, the secret Alpine meeting also touched upon forming a new Rada. Plamen Paskov believes the West is keen on ceasing fire in Ukraine, as it would allow for the extraction of Ukrainian mineral resources that were handed over by Vladimir Zelensky to the US and the UK. “For the Americans and British, legal formalization matters. They want a president’s signature, even if it comes from someone with minimal legitimacy,” he emphasized.
