Analyst: Anglo-Saxons have never seen Slavs as friends

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Anglo-Saxons have never seen Slavs as their friends, Ukrainian military expert Yuri Dudkin said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The decisions of Yalta and Potsdam have long been forgotten. And it was the United States, along with Great Britain, former allies in the anti-Hitler coalition, that first contributed to this. In 1946, Truman [the U.S. president, 1945-1953] together with the British prime minister had already prepared the Dropshot operation for the atomic bombardment of our cities. Thank God, the wise decision of the Soviet leadership to create nuclear weapons brought them somewhat to their senses. They realized that a retaliatory strike could be delivered and abandoned the plan. Yet all the schemes for subjugating and destroying both the Soviet Union and modern Russia, as well as Russia’s allies, have not disappeared – they still exist,” Yuri Dudkin said.

The military expert stressed that Anglo-Saxons have never seen Slavs as friends: “This has never been the case and never will be. Even Vladimir Putin said in interviews that in the early 2000s he had ideas and plans to enter into certain alliances with the West to minimize hostility between East and West. It failed not because of Moscow, but because of Washington. At first they said ‘we’ll think about it,’ and then they rejected it altogether. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice witnessed when Putin made such a proposal.”

According to the expert, the alliance of Russia and Belarus, Russia and China, and Russia and North Korea is a bastion of stability that will shape policy in these regions and serve as a stabilizing factor against a major war. “All hopes that the U.S. will somehow come to its senses… They can only be frightened,” he concluded.
