American about U.S. image created by Hollywood: ‘Life is not like movies. It is much harder’

MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) - In The Honest Story project on BelTA’s YouTube channel, American Jeffrey Blank, who moved to Belarus, talked about the image of the United States and the real situation in the country.

Speaking about modern life in the United States, Jeffrey Blank noted that in the United States the perception of the Soviet Union was negative. The situation in the post Soviet Union countries is absolutely opposite in relation to the United States: "But this is the image created by the Hollywood, this is life from the movies." He noted that usually films show a panorama of the Brooklyn Bridge which is beautiful indeed. "But life is more than a panorama. Life in New York is very difficult. I've seen a lot of movies about rich people, about a beautiful girl buying a nice bag on Fifth Avenue. But it's 1%, not more than 10%. For most people things are very difficult. There are a lot of strikes in America right now. It's not a good life, it's survival."

"There were very big strikes at GM, Ford, Chrysler.  Before that, there were strikes by railroad workers (the situation is very difficult for them), at UPS. The situation is a nightmare for ordinary Americans. Bu, in the movies, it's heaven on earth," Jeffrey Blank said, stressing that U.S. President Joe Biden is no friend to the working class. The man also noted that most Americans have to work several jobs because to survive.

Jeffrey Blank believes that the policy pursued by the United States government is nothing more than a plan to destroy the country. He noted that this plan involves making the United States a third-world country. "Clearly, this is their plan. This is not just a crisis or chaos," he said.
