MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Vietnam is interested in deepening tourism cooperation with Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung said at a press conference at Minsk National Airport dedicated to the ceremony marking the launch of the first direct flight to Vietnam.
“The launch of a direct flight is a historic event, an important milestone in bilateral relations,” the ambassador stated. “I am confident that the new flight will allow residents of Belarus and Vietnam to travel more. This is a huge opportunity for our tourists.”

The ambassador invited Belarusians to visit, noting the hospitality of the Vietnamese people and the country’s many beautiful destinations. “We hope that with the opening of the direct flight, the number of tourists from Belarus will increase. The two countries have a visa-free regime. Furthermore, many Vietnamese would like to come to Belarus and learn more about the country.”

Looking ahead, the ambassador shared his hope “that Belavia flights will become regular,” and added, “We hope that our airline will soon also fly to Belarus.”
He highlighted the significant potential for growth, noting that in Vietnam – a nation of over 100 million people – there is high demand for new travel destinations, particularly to Russia, Belarus, and other CIS countries. The trend of combined tours is also growing in popularity.
“Belarus is a very beautiful country. I am confident that Vietnamese tour operators will find the destinations that will be of interest to our tourists,” Nguyen Van Trung said. “We are making every effort to ensure that airlines can cooperate and that citizens of both countries can travel.”
The charter flights to Vietnam are scheduled to operate every 11 days. The aircraft is a comfortable model with a capacity for over 280 passengers. The service includes two hot meals, a 5 kg carry-on allowance, and checked baggage allowances of 23 kg in economy class and 32 kg in business class.
Demand is high, with the first flights fully booked. According to the tour operator, occupancy rates are expected to remain near capacity until spring.
