
MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – Mongolia and Belarus have a good foundation to enhance cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Belarus Batsukh Bayarsaikhan told the media following the inauguration of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 25 March, BelTA learned.
Ambassador Batsukh Bayarsaikhan recalled that in June 2024 Aleksandr Lukashenko paid his first state visit to Mongolia, marking a turning point in the Belarusian-Mongolian relations. The agenda for the high-level talks was extensive. The two leaders addressed a wide range of matters. Among the priority areas for future cooperation the diplomat named agriculture, industry and trade. "I can confidently say that this visit and the meeting gave impetus to strengthen cooperation between Mongolia and Belarus," he emphasized. He pointed out the important fact that the Belarusian president invited his Mongolian counterpart to pay a return visit to Belarus.
Ambassador Batsukh Bayarsaikhan stressed the need to deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries by organizing more cultural events to showcase each other's traditions, culture and history. Last year, the Mongolian Embassy organized a photo exhibition “Mandala: The Secret Temple of Tantra" at the ArtChaos Gallery. The exhibition featured rare artifacts from the Choijin Lama Temple. These masterpieces, created using unique artistic techniques and vivid colors, reflect Mongolian culture from the 17th to the 19th centuries and sparked great interest of Belarusians.
According to the ambassador, this year Belarusian scientists are expected to participate in summer archaeological fieldwork in Mongolia.
In general, there are great prospects for the comprehensive development of the Belarusian-Mongolian cooperation, the ambassador concluded.
