Ambassador: Kazakhstan’s cooperation with Belarus is robust

MINSK, 27 February (BelTA) - The Belarusian economy has gained pace and confidently looks into the future, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Belarus Timur Zhaksylykov said during a meeting with Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, BelTA learned. 

“Kazakhstan and Belarus enjoy active trade and economic cooperation. However, we have somewhat stalled at the figure of $1 billion in trade turnover. We have many joint projects in machine building. Enterprises [of Belarus] operate at 100% capacity, employment is high, modern high-tech products are produced. The living standards are growing. Inflation is moderate. The macroeconomic situation is stable. The Belarusian economy is confidently looking into the future and developing,” the Ambassador said.

According to him, Kazakhstan and Belarus have a great potential for development. “We have a great potential for development. For my part, I will do my best for our trade and technological projects to show even greater momentum.” 

“Our inter-parliamentary cooperation is at a good level. We are grateful for sending observers to the referendum on the NPP issue, which was held in Kazakhstan last year. In turn, we had 16 people participating as observers at the January 26 election in Belarus,” the Ambassador emphasized. “We are sure that your visit [the planned official visit of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation] will be an important step in the development of our further cooperation”.
