MINSK, 21 September (BelTA) – Venezuela and Belarus, close in spirit, have built an invisible bridge based on mutual respect, solidarity, and shared goals, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Republic of Belarus Franklin Ramirez Araque said at the second city assembly dedicated to the International Day of Peace, BelTA has learned.
“Venezuela and Belarus, despite geographical distance, are so close in spirit that they have built an invisible bridge based on respect, solidarity, and shared goals. Our colors, languages, histories are intertwined. Every meeting between our peoples takes root in fertile ground. Every cooperation project becomes another piece in the symphony of friendship,” the ambassador said.

He noted that the city’s event marks not only the Day of Peace as the absence of war, but also the importance of unity among nations. “When people treat each other with respect and dignity, when they open their hearts to one another, peace ceases to be a utopia and becomes a tangible path,” he stressed.
The ambassador underlined that Venezuelans proudly affirm: peace is built on human bonds and on symbols that speak louder than words. “This bond already exists between Venezuela and Belarus. It is strong, enduring, and permanent,” he emphasized.

The first peace assembly Zvоn Mіru [Bell of Peace] was held in 2024 on Independence Square, near the symbolic landmark, the Belarusian Peace Bell. Hundreds of young peacebuilders took part in the event. Its purpose is to draw attention to the issues of war and peace, to foster a culture of peace among the younger generation, and to strengthen friendship and unity among people of different nationalities and cultures.
The International Day of Peace was established by the UN General Assembly in 1981. It is observed annually on 21 September and is dedicated to promoting the ideals of peace among nations and peoples. In 2001, the UN General Assembly declared this day as one of non-violence and ceasefire, calling on all countries and peoples to mark it with peaceful activities.

The Belarusian Day of Peace is observed on the second Tuesday of September (on 16 September in 2025) and is dedicated to strengthening peace, harmony, and friendship among peoples. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of peace and stability for the development of society.
Traditionally, the Belarusian Peace Foundation combines these two dates into a Peace Week and organizes various events across the country to promote peace and mutual understanding.
