MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) -China will continue the policy of external openness and great opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation with the countries of the world, including with Belarus, Chinese Ambassador to Belarus Xie Xiaoyong sai d at a conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party in the House of Friendship on 26 May, BelTA has learned.
“This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Exactly one hundred years ago, the old China was on the brink of death and extinction as a nation. A large number of people were relentlessly searching for ways but failing to turn around the tragic fate of the people who suffered severe oppression and exploitation. Founded in 1921, the Communist Party rallied has rallied the multi-ethnic people of China and put them on the path of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,” the head of the diplomatic mission said. “After the agrarian revolutionary war, the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Liberation War, the CPC founded the People's Republic of China, where all power belongs to the people, conducted a socialist revolution, implemented a policy of reform and openness, successfully paved the way for socialism with Chinese characteristics, ensured national independence of the country, rapid economic development, long-term social stability, growing power and prosperity of the state and the prosperity of the people and thus achieved the ‘Chinese miracle',” the ambassador said.
Today, China has become the world's second largest economy, the largest industrial and trading state, the second country in the world in terms of the number of foreign investments. Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong also noted that China is among the world's leaders in terms of purchasing power. "The centenary since the founding of the Chinese Communist Party has completely changed the long-suffering fate of the Chinese people in a period of new history," he said.
“Celebrating the anniversary of the Communist Party amid serious changes in the world and global threats (unilateralism, protectionism and hegemonism, climate change, environmental pollution, epidemic of infectious diseases), China, under the leadership of the CPC, aims to build a Community with shared future for mankind and contribute to building a new type of international relations. China will continue the policy of foreign openness, provide more space and more opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation with other countries, including with Belarus,” the ambassador said.
According to Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong, Belarus is an important comprehensive strategic partner of China. “Belarus is a country that was among the first to respond to the Belt and Road initiative and has been actively participating in it. We firmly believe that within the framework of the agreements on friendly cooperation reached by the two heads of state, the level of bilateral relations will increase in the new era. The two countries will further deepen interaction in various areas, and the two nations will work together to create a better future for mutually beneficial cooperation,” the Chinese ambassador added.
Alina Grishkevich, Deputy Chairperson of the Belarus-China Friendship Society, member of the Board of the Belarusian Union of Women, emphasized the importance of the Belarusian-Chinese comprehensive cooperation as she addressed the conference. She spoke about her participation, as a member of the foreign media delegation, in the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which was held in October 2017 and became a landmark event in the development of the country. The deputy chairwoman pointed out that despite the pandemic, China successfully fulfilled its tasks and demonstrated to the world its consolidation for the sake of development and progress.
Attending the conference was Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Nikolai Borisevich, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Viktor Shadursky, representatives of the management of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone, representatives of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences, the BNTU Science and Technology Park, Defense Ministry and other ministries and departments.
