Ambassador: China, Belarus will coordinate efforts to ensure cyber security

MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – China and Belarus will coordinate efforts to counter information attacks and ensure cyber security, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said as he delivered a lecture on cooperation in the SCO at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research on 16 April, BelTA has learned.

He emphasized interaction in security between Belarus and China within the SCO and BRICS. “As for collective security, the priority will remain on strengthening cooperation in the traditional areas of security, formation of new platforms and new formats of cooperation in this area,” the diplomat said. “We will jointly prevent color revolutions and counter threats in non-traditional security, including coordinating efforts to counter information attacks and disinformation campaigns, as well as ensuring security in cyberspace.”

He went on saying: “In strengthening political mutual trust, we intend to continue to work together with other member states to resolutely support each other's efforts to independently choose the path of development and safeguard mutual core interests.”

“Through strategic dialogue, we will work to consolidate common positions and deepen mutual trust. Special attention will be paid to promoting cross-party cooperation and exchanges of experience in public administration, which should contribute to building a more equitable and multilateral world and an inclusive model of economic globalization,” the Chinese ambassador said.
