
MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) - China and Belarus are opening a new chapter in Chinese modernization and bilateral cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Zhang Wenchuan said at the 8th plenary meeting of the Young Sinologist School at the National Confucius Institute of Sinology of Belarusian State University (BSU) on 28 February, BelTA has learned.
“For eight years, young specialists who love Chinese culture and follow the development of China have gathered here to exchange ideas and propose ways to improve Belarus and the level of Chinese-Belarusian relations. They have also witnessed our comprehensive strategic partnership based on mutual trust and mutually beneficial cooperation rising up to a notch, achieving a new level of all-weather and all-round strategic partnership,” the diplomat noted.
The ambassador considers such meetings an effective platform for Belarusian students and young specialists to comprehensively study modern China, contributing to the advancement of sinology in Belarus and deepening mutual learning and exchange of expertise between the two countries.
“In July 2024, China hosted the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. The plenary session developed a grand plan to further deepen the policy of reforms and openness, and promote Chinese modernization. The session emphasized the need to adhere to the main national policy of openness to the outside world and to build a new open economic system at a higher level. All countries, including Belarus, paid great attention to the plenary session because it set the strategy and direction for China's modernization of global significance,” Ambassador Zhang Wenchuan said.
He explained the features and significance of Chinese modernization in terms of reforms, openness, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
