MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) — China is always opposed to foreign meddling in Belarus, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong told journalists, BelTA has learned.
"China always firmly supports Belarus in protecting state sovereignty, national dignity and is opposed to foreign meddling in Belarus, unjustified unilateral sanctions against Belarus. We also support Belarus' official membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization," he stressed.
Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong also pointed out: "Belarus provides strong support to China in country’s core interests and important concerns, including those related to Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong. Belarus also actively participates in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and other China’s ideas and concepts."
The ambassador emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination between the two countries within the framework of international multilateral mechanisms such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
