Ambassador: Bulgaria looks forward to welcome Belarusians at its resorts this summer

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) - Bulgaria is looking forward to welcome Belarusians at its resorts if the epidemiological situation does not worsen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bulgaria to Belarus Georgi Vassilev told BelTA.

“We are getting ready for the summer holiday season. We are in the process of accrediting Belarusian travel agencies that will work with Bulgaria. The related issues are being solved at the level of the deputy prime minister of our country, and there is an interest in the positive development of Belarusian-Bulgarian relations, including in tourism,” the diplomat said.

Georgi Vassilev emphasized: “Belarus is not on the list of the countries whose citizens are forbidden to visit Bulgaria. Belarusians can come to the Bulgarian resorts using the Schengen visa or the Bulgarian national visa, which costs €35.”

The ambassador said that Belarusians are traditionally frequent guests at the Bulgarian resorts and there was a period when Belarusians were leading in the number of foreign guests to Bulgaria.

Georgi Vassilev expressed hope that “if the epidemiological situation does not worsen by the vacation season, the tourist season in Bulgaria will take place”.

In his words, Belarusian karate fighters have recently visited Bulgaria for competitions. Belarusian athletes are also traveling to Bulgaria to take part in the rhythmic gymnastics competitions.
