MOGILEV, 6 July (BelTA) - One of the most colorful, favorite and most anticipated holidays Kupala Night (Alexandria Gathers Friends) kicks off in the agro-town of Alexandria, Shklov District on 6 July, BelTA has learned.
Alexandria gathers friends not only from all over Belarus but also from others countries. The large-scale festival debuted in 2010. The tradition has caught on. Every year it welcomes more and more friends from other countries. The venue is iconic too. Since ancient times the Dnieper River has united East Slavic peoples. It has been the artery of the famous trade route from the Varangians to the Greeks linking people, cities and states.
This year, the festival is themed around the idea of the Kupala wreath and will also highlight such topics as the Year of Quality, the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the 30th anniversary of the institute of presidency. The organizers have made every effort to deliver a high-quality event.
Every time Kupala Night in Alexandria brings together several tens of thousands of guests, professional and amateur artists and artisans. One of the largest and most spectacular events is the arts and crafts fair "Kupala Wreath of the Commonwealth”. This year it will feature representatives of Belarus and Russia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
By the way, this year's festivities in Alexandria will be attended by heads and representatives of diplomatic missions of 30 foreign states accredited in Belarus. The CIS will be represented by diplomats from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan; Asia and the Middle East - Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Iran, China, Mongolia, Türkiye, Japan, Vietnam and others; African continent - Zimbabwe, Sudan and Senegal.
The program of the holiday will include dozens of events: Kupala Night folk rites, round dances, quests, concerts, master classes, contests, children's interactive show programs, sports and circus performances, concerts, light and music shows, youth disco.
