Akulovich: Number of viewers exceeds 160,000 on VIDEOBEL.BY launch day

MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – The multimedia portal VIDEOBEL.BY registered more than 160,000 visitors on the day of its launch, Director General of BelTA News Agency Irina Akulovich said on Belarus 1 TV show Editors' Club, BelTA has learned.

“The platform was launched at 10:00 am on 12 September. Everything went according to plan. I can say that yesterday the portal registered 160,000 views. The geography covers 90 countries. Those include Belarus, of course, then Russia. Third comes Poland, then Germany, Lithuania, Ukraine, the USA, Georgia, and Latvia,” Irina Akulovich said.

According to her, the feedback was as active. “We have received feedback of about seven pages of letters. Those came mainly from our colleagues and bloggers asking about the opportunity to be presented on the platform. There were talks with Russian colleagues, who were also interested in getting on the portal. Everyone is interested in this. I would like to say that the platform is the first step, of course. It will be further developed,” the director general said. “In the near future we will work primarily with the content of the national mass media. This is BelTA's responsibility, but the project is a joint one, because it posts the content all the country’s national mass media.”

Belarus launched its first multimedia portal VIDEOBEL.BY on 12 September. The new platform will provide access to all the social and political contents of the leading Belarusian mass media. The new resource will offer streaming channels and important live broadcasts, in particular, from the events attended by the head of state. It will provide a daily selection of top five news headlines for those who want to keep up-to-date but spend the minimum time studying the media space. This is a one-stop media portal for users to get the best and most relevant content.

All video materials will be accompanied by time codes. In fact, this is a breakdown of entire programs into thematic segments, which will make it easy to navigate and save time.

A responsive design of the media portal means that all its contents can be accessed from any device, be it a smartphone or a TV screen.
