MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) - BelTA Director General Irina Akulovich shared her opinion on how the perception of state symbols has changed in recent years as she talked to journalists before the ceremony of honoring the state symbols of Belarus, BelTA learned.
When asked what she associates the state flag with, Irina Akulovich said with a smile: "First of all, I love this color combination. Designers say that it is a cool combination.”
That flag is in our hearts, she added. "We all wear ribbons today, apple blossoms of victory. I really like that kids do it too. Yesterday Belarus and the Belarusian Women’s Union launched a joint exhibition 'Woman. War. Victory" and there were children at the event. They also wore ribbons like this. They perceive it as something innate, something of their own. I think this is the most important thing that has happened in recent years. When the flag is not just on your coat lapel, it is in your heart. This is a completely different feeling," Irina Akulovich noted.
