Agenda for upcoming session of Belarusian People’s Congress revealed

 

MINSK, 21 October (BelTA) – Valery Mitskevich, Head of the Secretariat of the Belarusian People’s Congress, told journalists about the agenda for the upcoming session of the Congress following a meeting of its organizing committee, BelTA reports.

The first meeting of the organizing committee, which was established by the Presidium of the Belarusian People’s Congress, was held at the government headquarters. “We have discussed the planning, preparation, and holding of the session, including the Presidium’s meeting and the agenda,” Valery Mitskevich informed. “We must ensure that everything stipulated by the Constitution and law is implemented at the session of the Belarusian People’s Congress.”
A schedule for the preparatory events is now being finalized. Speaking about the agenda of the session, the head of the Secretariat confirmed that it comprises specific matters mandated by the Constitution and law. “This includes the president’s address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, the approval of the 2026-2030 socioeconomic development program, and current personnel matters, namely, changes in the composition of the Presidium of the Belarusian People’s Congress, the Supreme Court, and the Constitutional Court,” he said.

Preparations for the second session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress have been officially launched. By order of Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko, the session will take place in Minsk on 18-19 December 2025. The committee in charge of organizing and holding sessions of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress was put together in February 2025. It is headed by the prime minister of Belarus and includes a number of top-ranking government officials, ministers, governors and the Minsk mayor as well as representatives of other government agencies.
