MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology have signed a cooperation agreement. The document was inked by Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vladimir Gusakov and President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology Chau Van Minh, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences.
The agreement seeks to boost the scientific and technical potential of Belarus and Vietnam, build and expand contacts between scientific institutions of the two countries, facilitate implementation of joint scientific projects in areas of mutual interest, to create favorable conditions for joint research and development, commercialize the outputs of joint research in Belarus, Vietnam and third countries, exchange ideas, information and technologies, and jointly use the scientific infrastructure of the two countries.
According to Vladimir Gusakov, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology have been maintaining contacts and partner relations for many years. Chau Van Minh is a foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. “Today we must strive for closer integration of our institutes and scientific organizations in order to intensify cooperation in priority areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, electric transport, new materials, medical and space technologies, training of scientific personnel, and more," Vladimir Gusakov emphasized. The chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus suggested that Vietnamese partners develop a cooperation roadmap until 2030 that will include new areas and projects of interest to Belarus and Vietnam.
The president of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology noted that the Vietnamese side upholds this proposal and emphasized that the new cooperation agreement between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology opens up new opportunities for mutually beneficial interaction between scientists from Vietnam and Belarus and will facilitate closer ties between scientists from the two countries.
A cooperation agreement between the Belarusian Foundation for Fundamental Research and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology was also signed on 23 September.
The Vietnamese delegation was told about the latest developments of Belarusian scientists that were presented at the permanent exposition "Achievements of Domestic Science for the Manufacturing Industry". The program of the visit includes a visit to a number of scientific organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
