MINSK, 30 August (BelTA) — About 3,750 trucks, passenger cars and buses are queuing up to enter the European Union, BelTA learned from Belarus’ State Border Committee.
Since 26 August, the number of trucks waiting to enter Poland has increased by almost 300, to enter Lithuania – by 70. The queue to enter Latvia remains unchanged. The Polish border checkpoint Kukuryki (Kozlovichi on the Belarusian side) cleared daily about 55% of the normal number of trucks. The Lithuanian border checkpoints Medininkai (Kamenny Log) and Shalchininkai (Benyakoni) checked out about 30% of trucks. The Latvian border checkpoint Paternieki (Grigorovshchina) cleared 48% of trucks.
Since Monday, the queue of passenger cars to enter Lithuania has grown from 10 to 320. The largest queue of 550 passenger cars remains in front of the Polish border checkpoint Terespol (Brest). Besides, the border checkpoint has cleared the least amount of passenger cars – about 35%.
Moreover, 25 buses were waiting near the Polish checkpoint Terespol to enter Poland.
