MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – A total of 743 citizens of Ukraine entered Belarus in the past 24 hours, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

“From 6.00 on 6 April to 6.00 on 7 April some 551 citizens of Ukraine arrived in Belarus through the Belarus-Ukraine border. Another 177 people came to Belarus transiting through Poland; 11 Ukrainians passed in transit through Lithuania, and 4 through Latvia. Belarus continues to provide the necessary assistance to people arriving from the Ukrainian territory. The Belarus Red Cross and the Emergencies Ministry are running mobile warming centers near the villages of Gden, Poddobryanka and the Novaya Guta border checkpoint,” the State Border Committee said. In addition to that, mobile drugstores were set up in the village of Poddobryanka and near the Novaya Guta checkpoint.

According to the State Border Committee, since 3 April foreign nationals arriving in Belarus due to the social and political situation in Ukraine, including those transiting through other countries, do not need to present the negative result of a PCR test to enter the country. In addition, foreign nationals traveling from Ukraine to the place of permanent residence are allowed visa-free entry to Belarus until 15 April inclusively.

Belarusian checkpoints are operating in a routine mode.
