57,233 people in polling station commissions getting ready for elections in Belarus

MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – As many as 5,411 polling station commissions have been set up for the sake of organizing elections of members of the parliament and municipal councils of deputies in Belarus on the single voting day, 25 February. The commissions are made up of 57,233 people, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus told BelTA.

According to Belarus’ CEC, the commissions include 6,919 representatives of worker collectives, 17,671 representatives of citizens, and 32,643 representatives of political parties and other public associations.

The representatives of the political parties that make up the polling station commissions include 2,642 members of the Belaya Rus Party, 907 members of the Communist Party of Belarus, 304 members of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus, and 910 members of the Republican Labor and Justice Party.

As far as public associations are concerned, the commissions are made up of 4,079 representatives of the republican public association Belaya Rus, 3,245 representatives of the Belarusian republican youth union BRSM, 4,078 representatives of the Belarusian Women’s Union, 3,372 representatives of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, 3,172 representatives of the Belarusian Public Association of Veterans, 9,084 representatives of the trade unions that belong to the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FTUB), and 850 representatives of other public associations.
