MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – In 2024 Belarus’ Armed Forces commissioned 24 models of weaponry and hardware developed by the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus, BelTA learned from the agency’s Chairman Dmitry Pantus before a session of the agency’s board in Minsk.
Dmitry Pantus said: “In 2024 we worked quite well on the arms market. Merchandise export reached a record high. We continued growing. We built new manufacturing divisions. And we will continue this trend in the future. The year 2024 was a success for us. The key milestone was the delivery of the air defense missile system Buk, a Belarusian missile for this system, and the grenade launcher Sapfir. As many as 24 products were commissioned by our Armed Forces in 2024. It is a very significant figure for us.”
He also pointed out that every year the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus tries to master previously unexplored trends and areas. “2024 was not an exception. We seriously expanded the choice of ammunition that we make. We also develop technologies. Artificial intelligence is in use. All the software we develop today represents a unique product that allows our Armed Forces to correctly make various decisions and properly carry out the tasks the army faces,” the chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry stressed.
The session of the agency’s board is supposed to sum up results of the work done by the agency and the organizations run by the agency in 2024 in addition to working out tasks for 2025.
