MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Some 140 Ukrainian nationals came to Belarus over the past 24 hours, 136 of them in transit through the EU countries, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee.

“From 6.00 on 18 April to 6.00 on 19 April 140 Ukrainians entered Belarus: four citizens of Ukraine arrived in Belarus from the territory of Ukraine, 120 Ukrainians came to Belarus transiting through Poland; 14 Ukrainians passed in transit through Lithuania, and two through Latvia,” the State Border Committee said.

Belarus continues to provide the necessary assistance to people arriving from the Ukrainian territory.

“The Belarus Red Cross and the Emergencies Ministry are running mobile warming centers near the villages of Gden, Poddobryanka and the Novaya Guta border checkpoint. Rescuers, medical staff and Red Cross volunteers are on the ground to provide assistance. Since 3 April foreign nationals arriving in Belarus due to the social and political situation in Ukraine, including those transiting through other countries, do not need to present the negative result of a PCR test to enter the country,” the State Border Committee informed.

Belarusian checkpoints are operating in a routine mode.
