Zimbabwe's First Lady issues potato growing  challenge to Lukashenko

MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) - Zimbabwe's First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa was given a couple of boxes with potatoes from the garden of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA learned from the Telegram channel Pul pervogo.

“On the instruction of the president, a delegation of Belarusian women handed over boxes with potatoes from the garden of the head of state to the First Lady of Zimbabwe. These are the two most popular varieties Pershatsvet and Manifest which Auxillia Mnangagwa had a chance to appreciate during her visit to Belarus,” the Telegram channel informed.

In her video message Auxillia Mnangagwa said that there are no such varieties in Zimbabwe and at least part of the potatoes will go to the kitchen for cooking. “When I serve the dish to the president [Emmerson Mnangagwa] I will tell him that it is courtesy of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko,” the First Lady said.

Auxillia Mnangagwa also issued a gardening challenge to Aleksandr Lukashenko. “Let’s see where potatoes will grow better,” she said while accepting the gift.

According to the Telegram channel publication, Zimbabwe's First Lady is confident of her victory.
