MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has donated a batch of watermelons harvested in his garden to the children's hospital for infectious diseases in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.
"Those patients who are prescribed certain diet by doctors will get their sweet treats a bit later," the press service added.
This year's harvest was excellent. This year the president's garden produced such varieties of watermelons as Bedouin, Top Gun, Romanza, Mirsini and Belarusian Early variety.
Traditionally, the entire harvest from the president's garden is donated to children's homes and elderly nursing homes.
