MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed a decree on granting clemency to 15 convicts, including 9 women. Eleven of the convicts committed crimes when they were underage, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
Punishments for some of the convicts will be replaced with softer ones. The remaining time in prison has been reduced for the other convicts.
The relevant proposals had been submitted by the commission on granting clemency and pardons upon instructions of the head of state.
