Semashko vested with authorities of vice premier in charge of cooperation with Russia

MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko has been vested with the authorities of deputy prime minister in charge of Belarus' activities in the Union State and relations with Russia. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed corresponding Decree No. 202 on 30 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

In accordance with the document, Vladimir Semashko acting as vice premier will represent Belarus in contacts concerning bilateral cooperation with designated officials and public bodies of Russia and agencies of the Union State; submit proposals regarding trade, economic and investment cooperation with Russia to the government, state administration bodies, oblast executive committees, the Minsk City Hall, other public agencies and organizations.

Besides, he will coordinate activities of government bodies and other public organizations subordinate to the government, Belarus' representatives in Union State agencies, give them instructions and monitor fulfillment progress.

Vladimir Semashko will be personally responsible for the promotion of Belarus' national interests in the Union State and in relations with Russia.
