Refugees thank Lukashenko for support

GRODNO DISTRICT, 26 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with refugees stranded at the logistics hub near the Bruzgi checkpoint on the Belarus-Poland border. The migrants thanked the Belarusian head of state for his support, BelTA has learned,

"It's very important to us," one of the women said. "If all the presidents in Europe were like you, we would have no problems, we would be welcomed everywhere."

"It's extremely important for us to reach Europe and start a new life there. We simply can't go back to Iraq. It is dangerous for us there. We need to go forward," she explained. “We want to get education, to go to school. It would be great id all the leaders of Europe were like you, at least a little. We very much hope that Europe will do something good for us, as Mr Lukashenko did."

"We will not just hope. We will work together with you to get your dream come true," the head of state said in response.
