MOSCOW, 18 February (BelTA) – I did not pay attention to the fake news about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the media following a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Moscow on 18 February, BelTA has learned.
"I just didn't pay attention. There are a lot of fake news. Reacting to them is not worth the effort. We are doing what we consider necessary, and we will continue doing so," Vladimir Putin said.
The head of state said that Russia has "clear understandable guidelines that correspond to the national interests of the Russian people and the Russian state."
"We did not invade Ukraine, and they [the West], poor guys, got apparently very upset and are now looking for a new reason to push Ukraine towards some provocations," Aleksandr Lukashenko said for his part.
