Presidents of Belarus, Zimbabwe agree on new joint projects

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – During the talks we mapped out new joint projects, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said following the talks with Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Minsk on 14 May, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that the parties held very intensive and productive talks. "This is also the result of the effective work of our specialists and ministers. We discussed a wide range of issues, reviewed previously reached agreements (including those made during the visit to Zimbabwe two years ago), and defined new joint projects. Special attention was given to the development of cooperation across promising areas, including interregional and industrial cooperation," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

Belarus and Zimbabwe have signed a package of documents, including a roadmap for 2026-2030, which covers all key joint projects across various sectors.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized significant results achieved during Emmerson Mnangagwa’s visit to Belarus. That was preceded by extensive work of governments, ministries, regional authorities and companies of both countries.
"I want to express my sincere gratitude for your great personal contribution to the development of strategic relations, friendship and brotherhood between the peoples of Belarus and Zimbabwe. I am convinced that with such support we will increase trade, create joint promising enterprises, and open new markets both in Africa and Eurasia even more actively," the Belarusian leader said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko invited Zimbabwe’s president and his spouse, Auxillia Mnangagwa, to visit Belarus again. He assured that the Zimbabwean leader would feel truly at home here. "I am very grateful to you for everything you have done. It is important to note that without you Zimbabwe and Belarus would not have achieved such a level of understanding and relations. You once came to our country in the capacity of vice president and proposed building relations between us. That was where it all began," the Belarusian president added.
