MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko confirmed the plans to make the wages of education workers equal to the national average by 2025 as he spoke at the Nationwide Conference on Teaching on 27 August, BelTA has learned.

“A teacher remains a pillar of the state,” the president emphasized. “It is known how I respect your work. Social support for teachers, strengthening the positive image of teachers and schools are the top priority of our policy. We will continue to work in this area. By 2025, we will make the wages of education workers equal to the national average.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that Belarus is working on providing housing for education workers. In Minsk District the keys to the first house for teachers will be soon handed over to the residents.
